Mediating Institutions
Our culture is falling into the trap of leaving everything up to the experts, especially when it comes to government issues. Our Founders did not want we the people to become too reliant on government "experts" since then the power of the government would be transferred to these experts, rather than the people. Today, we are being ruled by these unelected experts who often pass laws without going through our congressional reps.
Mediating institutions help to break up the power in government and keeps more of the power in the hands of the people at the lower levels of the population. This results in and maintains governance by the grassroots. The following article and podcast discusses this principle in more detail.
